cable crimper

$12 at NAPA! What a deal. This is for heavy cable: it will crimp lugs on up to 4/0 AWG cable. Stick the cable in the lug, stick the lug in the crimper, and whack it with a BFH. Simple and effective!

1985 FJ60 fuse layout

Never know when this one might come in handy!

unknown

fuel-injection controller

The backside. Quite a few of the pins in that 25-pin connector are actually used. Scary.

unknown

fuel-injection controller

The front side. The DB9 connector is a standard serial port. The green LED flashes with each injection event, yellow lights up during warmup, and red indicates momentary enrichment when you stomp on the gas. The buttons raise and lower the current idle speed.

the fuse panel in my FJ60

Again, never know when this might come in handy...

unknown

CB radio

I'm not sure if this thing works right or not. It's been hopped up, but I think I might have blown out the finals running through an improperly connected antenna. We'll see.

unknown

the rat's nest

The engine compartment wiring could really use some cleaning up. Almost all of that crap is for the fuel injection. I know it could be better organized than that. I plan to clean up the whole engine compartment when I get going on the dual-battery system in a few weeks.

unknown

military terminals

...are the shiznit. I love 'em. No more damaging the battery terminals to disconnect whatever's attached. Very secure and handy. They're cheaper at McMaster-Carr than they are at NAPA by several dollars each!

Note the gold plated bling bling lug on the far-right power cable. That's 1/0 welding cable straight to the starter motor.

unknown

Toyota factory fog switch

This switch is used in FJ80s, 100s, and RAV4s, at least. Probably way more models, too. It's made by Hella, Cole-Hersee, and probably others. These are Hella units.

unknown

Toyota factory fog package

In case you need the part number, there it is. Buy from rallylights.com, though -- $10 or so, instead of dealer price!

unknown

Toyota factory fog switches

Just to point out that I have two, which I don't need after all. Oooops.

unknown

aux fuse panel

This little fuse panel is located behind the passenger kick panel. I mounted it on a bent piece of 1/8" aluminum plate. It's fed by a (30A-fused) 10 gauge line from the battery. It should help keep things neater in the engine compartment as I add more electrical goodies in the cabin.

unknown

cleaned-up winch wiring

While I was wiring in the power switch, I cleaned up the winch wiring to the solenoid pack. Much neater now.

unknown

blurry switches - oops!

Left to right: fog lights, rear lights, dual-battery controller, winch power, and air-compressor power. Currently only the winch switch is hooked up.

unknown

current dash layout

Same as the other one, except you can also see the Hella map light. That thing is great.

unknown

dash opened up

Note the anal-retentive organized wiring job on them thar switches. :)

unknown

switch wiring close-up

Just to admire the lovely wiring. :)

unknown

winch and light wire routing

Now that's nice. Once again, I'm impressed with my beautiful wiring. :)
